Hey everyone! With school starting up again today or within the next few weeks, we wanted to share some helpful hints to be successful this semester. Whether you are fully online, hybrid or going to school each day, we hope these tips help you to succeed this semester! In these crazy times, school can be extremely hard when you are learning through zoom. These tips can also be helpful for high school! We hope that you find something in this post to help you CRUSH this semester!
Have a designated work space
Our first tip is to have an area to do your work. That can be anywhere that you can sit down, have a desk or work area that you can spread out and be able to have all of your supplies near you. When we started doing school online, we made a room in our basement into an area that we can do our school work. Just by adding some desks and cute decor, we now have an area where we can go and dedicate our time to working on schoolwork. This has been one of the most helpful things for us!
Stay organized
Organization is key and we love a good planner! Having a planner to keep you on track and stay organized can be very beneficial. We like to take the time to write down all of our assignments for the whole semester during the first week of classes so that don’t miss any of our assignments. We also started using a day planner, you can find similar ones on amazon, to write and plan the things that you want to get accomplished each day. We use this as a more detailed way to plan our day and just write the basics in our yearly planner. A planner can help you stay organized by allowing you to plan for the day!
Don’t fall behind
Playing catch up is almost impossible most times. Don’t fall into the snowball affect of missing assignment after assignment. Each day make a list of your “must do” assignments and then the assignment that would be nice to get done. Work your way through your list from most important to less important. This allows for you to complete the high priority assignments and then work ahead if time allows.
Take hand written notes
Taking hand written notes during a lecture can help to remember what you are being taught. Having hand written notes can give you something to look back on to review and also jog your memory of something that was discussed during the lecture.
